(Background)

Jack is a business financial management platform that integrates corporate cards, payroll, and bill payments into a single portal.

In this case study, I designed an early billing payment feature for corporate cards, allowing users to pay their bills before the due date with a flexible (partial) payment amount. Once the payment is successful, the available limit of each card is immediately refreshed based on the amount paid, enabling continued business spending without waiting for the billing cycle to end.

(Challenge)

While billing payments are typically made close to the due date, some users need more flexibility to proactively manage their card limits. The main challenges included:

  • The feature is not driven by an urgent pain point, making it easy to overlook

  • Users need to clearly understand how early payments affect card limits

  • Supporting partial payments without creating confusion or misinterpretation

  • Ensuring the payment flow remains clear, safe, and easy to use, even when there is no payment due
